FAQ Basics:
* The standard for the piano tuning is usually every six months, but this can vary depending on the condition of the tuning pin's pin-plank, how well the tuning pin holds at about 150 inch pounds of constant pressure, and how much pitch adjustment will be needed to tune the piano to standard musical pitch A-440 and C-523.3 using a pitch fork or digital orchestral tuner. Bob learned to tune the piano by ear and setting pitch using the pitch fork from Mr. Perkins of the Perkins School of Piano Tuning and Technology, Inc., Elyria, Ohio in 1992. Bob uses a digital tuner to compare pitch, change pitch, and check pitch. Bob uses the standard equal temperament for setting chords with 3rds, 4ths, and 5ths interval checking. Bob does complete piano tuning in about two hours, but again time can vary depending on the aforementioned above *.
